Fair City Challenge: Making Philadelphia’s Neighborhoods More Equitable

Homeownership is a primary path for generational wealth creation in the US, but its benefits have been inequitably distributed.

The Fair City Challenge aims to identify and support community-based social entrepreneurs with great ideas for revaluing property in historically disinvested Philadelphia neighborhoods - while preventing displacement.

The Grand Prize winner will earn a $50,000 investment.

The competition includes three categories:

· The Home & the Homeowner: Solutions that support low- and moderate-income homeowners in maintaining their homes while adapting to changing circumstances and needs.

· The Neighborhood: Solutions that enhance neighborhoods while preventing the displacement of current residents.

· The City: Policy-focused solutions that support low- and moderate-income homeowners who aim to build household and community wealth while avoiding displacement.

Applications open through Friday, March 28, 2025.
