Congratulations to the AIA Women’s Leadership Summit 2025 Scholarship Recipient, Julia Brown 🎉

Congratulations to Julia Brown, LEED AP, Assoc. AIA on receiving AIA Philadelphia's AIA Women’s Leadership Summit 2025 Scholarship. 🎉

AIA Philadelphia is supporting the Women’s Leadership Summit (WLS) 2025, hosted by the American Institute of Architects. This support will enable women architects from Philadelphia to attend the event, which focuses on firm leadership, advancing business knowledge, targeted networking, proactive career management, and personal empowerment. We are thrilled to send an individual who has made a tremendous impact on the field of architecture in Philadelphia.

Julia Brown, LEED AP, Assoc. AIA

Julia Brown is an Architectural Designer at Heckendorn Shiles Architects in Wayne, PA. She is a recent graduate of Drexel University’s 2+4 Architecture program. Julia’s senior thesis proposed to adaptively re-use two Philadelphia waterfront piers to serve a new purpose. By achieving her LEED GA + LEED AP credentials while in school, her studies guided her many projects to design sustainable and healthy environments for all users. Julia plans to pursue architectural licensure this fall and continue advocating for universal and green design in the built environment.

We had many deserving women submit to this scholarship. We encourage all local firms to take initiative and send an employee to the AIA Women's Leadership Summit. Thank you to the Women in Architecture Committee here at AIA Philadelphia for spearheading this initiative!
