Main Line Craftsmen has been providing thoughtful and creative construction services in Philadelphia and its suburbs since 1982. A full-service General Contracting company, MLC specializes in additions and major renovations that integrate modern design and function with the unique character of historic and older homes. 

MLC’s President and Projects Manager closely supervise all projects, and their full-time carpenters provide skilled and artful craftsmanship. They have created strong relationships with specialty trades, all of whom have worked with MLC for a minimum of five years and have consistently demonstrated the highest level of quality and dependability.  

Although most MLC projects come to them as negotiated contracts, they also provide competitive estimates for projects that include no more than three qualified bidders. More than half of MLC’s clients have contracted with them for additional construction services. MLC is always happy to introduce clients who are looking for design/build services to the talented architects with whom they have worked extensively. 

Recently, MLC worked with architect Tim Kerner to completely remodel the first floor of a 3-story row-home near Rittenhouse Square (pictured). They added a powder room and created a new, more expansive kitchen consisting of custom cabinetry by Pappajohn Woodworking, and stone tops. The rear wall was opened up to accommodate a new, large sliding door unit that leads to a private patio with new stone tiles and a custom wood gate. New custom cabinets and millwork were installed in the entrance foyer and living room, and an existing masonry fireplace was converted to a gas linear fireplace. All new wood flooring was installed to complete this custom renovation.
