The key to The Lighting Practice’s legacy of excellence is its talented team of lighting designers whose expertise spans multiple disciplines. These professionals bring together their ideas, knowledge, and talents to transform ordinary spaces into captivating and memorable places. TLP’s Philadelphia office is excited to welcome back Jessica Wickes along with four new additions to the team, Drew Hopkins, and Felix Warren.

Jessica Wickes – Lighting Designer II
Jessica Wickes rejoined The Lighting Practice in 2022 with over a decade of experience in architectural lighting and theatrical lighting design. Jess was initially drawn to light as a medium for storytelling, which is why she pursued a degree in theatre from the University of Maryland and an MFA in Lighting Design from Temple University. Over time she realized that light was an essential tool that can enhance environments beyond the stage. Jess’ project experience includes academic, corporate fit-outs, retail, and exterior lighting.

Drew Hopkins – Lighting Designer I
Drew Hopkins joined The Lighting Practice in 2021 as a Lighting Designer I. After graduating from Bucknell University with a degree in Technical Theatre and Political Science, he pursued a career as a freelance theatrical lighting designer. Drew’s background illuminating live performances for theater and concert venues broadened his understanding of light’s impact on a space and its ability to influence human perception. His hands-on experience with coordinating DMX controls and color changing lighting fixtures has made him a valuable addition to the team. Since joining TLP, Drew’s project experience has grown to include healthcare, academic, and places of worship.

Felix Warren, NOMA – Designer
Felix Warren joined The Lighting Practice as a Designer in 2021 after graduating with a degree in Architecture and a custom minor in Lighting Design from Thomas Jefferson University. An active member of NOMA Philadelphia, Felix was drawn to a career in lighting because of the fun and flexibility lighting can bring to an environment, from commercial use to art installations. His previous experience includes several artistic installations at Laurel Hill Cemetery, participation in the Light4Health program, and an internship with the Port Authority of NY & NJ. Since joining TLP, Felix’s project experience has grown to include mixed-use residential, hospitality, and healthcare.
TLP is delighted to welcome Jessica, Drew, and Felix to the team.
