On the Move |
The Lighting Practice has built an extraordinary legacy of work since the firm opened in 1989. With offices in New York City and Philadelphia, TLP continues to strengthen the firm's connection to our design partners and clients by meeting and exceeding their project goals, thanks to our talented team. Today, the firm is excited to announce that Rebecca Mintz, Assoc. IALD, LEED AP BD+C, WELL AP, LC, has joined the firm as an Associate.
Rebecca will use her decade of experience working with academic, corporate, healthcare, senior living, science & technology clients across the country to grow and maintain TLP's professional relationships. Seated in New York, she will manage projects and cross-collaborate with both the Philadelphia and New York teams. In addition to her project work, Rebecca will support business development efforts as well as lead firm-wide work process improvements.
“We are delighted to welcome Rebecca to our team,” says Helen Diemer, President of The Lighting Practice. “She has great experience and brings a fresh perspective having worked in lighting design previously for a smaller specialty firm and a much larger multi-disciplinary engineering firm. Since joining TLP, Rebecca has already identified ways to improve our BIM processes supporting both our team and clients. We look forward to learning from each other and growing together.”
Rebecca's interest in lighting design began at an early age after becoming active in theatre. Her enthusiasm for lighting and learning led her to pursue her MFA in Lighting Design from Parsons School of Design following her graduation from Brown University. As an adjunct faculty member at NYSID and Parsons, Rebecca is committed to inspiring young designers to pursue lighting design as a profession. In 2019, Rebecca was recognized by Lighting Magazine's 40under40 Awards, an international program that identifies the most promising individuals working in the lighting design industry.
“Joining The Lighting Practice represents an opportunity to work on high caliber designs while growing in my career,” explains Rebecca Mintz, Associate. “I'm looking forward to being more involved in business development and operational improvements in addition to project and design management. I've wanted to work for TLP since I graduated from Parsons. Ten years later it finally happened!”
