Archer & Buchanan Architecture is pleased to have Kevin Ponce join our team. Presently pursuing a Bachelor of Architecture degree at Drexel University, Kevin started on a path of discovery following his attainment of an Associate Degree in Architectural Technology from Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. After gaining valuable experience working for a builder, an architect, and a historic preservationist; interning with the Historic American Buildings Survey (HABS), part of the National Park Service's Cultural Resources, Partnerships and Science Directorate; and receiving a Certificate in Classical Architecture from the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art (ICAA), Kevin set his sights on a career in custom residential architecture with a focus on traditional and classical design.
In his journey to date, Kevin has grown his knowledge of classical architecture, how to build a building, proper building documentation and building information modeling software. All of which prepared him for his next stop at Archer & Buchanan, where he has an opportunity to apply the things he has learned every day. Kevin relishes the new challenges that come with custom residential design and looks forward to continuing to develop his sense of design and awareness of the myriad details that go into designing a home.
“Kevin's passion for classical design makes him a terrific fit for our office,” says firm co-founder, Richard Buchanan. “It is a delight to have someone so committed to continuous learning; we look forward to watching Kevin's growth and development as he advances his architectural career with us.”
Kevin plans to pass the Architect Registration Examination and earn his professional architecture license by the time he graduates from the program at Drexel University. Future pursuit of a Master of Architecture degree and service as an architectural educator are not outside the realm of possibility. For now, we are grateful for Kevin's contributions to the team and are excited to be a part of his seemingly never-ending quest for knowledge in our field.
