Design Award Winners |
Congratulations to HOK on winning a Gold Medal Award for their Penn State University Animal, Veterinary & Biomedical Sciences Building project.
The research and teaching conducted by the College of Agricultural Sciences at Penn State are critical for ensuring the stability of the U.S. food supply chain and for advancing human and animal health. These activities also make significant contributions to Pennsylvania’s economy.
This new four-story academic and research building was designed to replace the outdated Henning Building on Penn State’s University Park campus. The goal was to create a cutting-edge facility that would attract top faculty, staff and students while supporting transdisciplinary research in animal science, veterinary and biomedical sciences.
The 80-million-dollar building includes 55,000 sf of assignable area made up of research labs, offices, classrooms, a 48-seat seminar room, and a 100-seat lecture hall that serves the needs of the larger campus. A study lounge and open conference areas at the two entry lobbies allow for collaborative and private work.
