Congratulations to ALMA architecture llc on winning a Merit Award for their “The Parker” project.

Hawthorne is a neighborhood on the edge of Center City. A traditionally working-class African American Community located in the South Philadelphia section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Bainbridge and 13th St. are both 50ft wide busy thorough fares for pedestrian and vehicles. 

“Triple honors for late restaurant owner KeVen Parker Philadelphia City Council member Kenyatta Johnson was on hand for the naming of the 1300 block of South Street as “KeVen Parker Way.” At the event, real estate developer Kenneth Penn announced he will name a new apartment building at 13th and Bainbridge streets “The Parker” in his honor, when it opens in May 2024." [Sheery Stone, The Philadelphia Tribune June 30, 2022] 

“Humanitarian, Mentor, visionary, Mr. Phila-delphia, the “epitome of Black excellence”: these are just some of the ways that friends, business associates, and acquaitances described KeVen Parker after paying their respects to the venerated entrepreneur and owner of Philadelphia soul-food beacon Ms.Tootsie’s.
