Announcing: Play Everywhere Philly

KABOOM!, the national nonprofit committed to ending playspace inequity for good, is launching of a challenge to help Philadelphia communities take bold, new steps toward advancing playful learning in Philadelphia! Play Everywhere Philly is an exciting, collaborative challenge, created by KABOOM! and funded by the William Penn Foundation to bring together organizations and stakeholders in Philadelphia to create playful, interactive spaces, for children ages 0-8, that support child development and literacy skills in everyday locations throughout the city. Past Play Everywhere winners have incorporated play at laundromats, along sidewalks, in libraries and more. Wherever kids and families spend their time is the perfect place to incorporate play!

In this second round of the challenge, KABOOM! will award $1 million in Play Everywhere grants to 10 grantees. All grantees will have the added benefit of playful learning design support from Playful Learning Landscapes Action Network and project management support from Watchdog.

We are accepting Idea Form applications from anyone who has an idea for how to turn everyday, publicly shared places – like vacant lots, community gardens, pathways, areas outside businesses – into playful learning and literacy-rich playspaces across Philadelphia. The goal is to address playspace inequity by infusing play into the built environment with innovative, community-designed playspaces that meet kids and families where they live, learn, and play.

Do you have a great idea for making a positive impact on children's development and ensure a playful future for kids in Philly?

Submit your Idea Form at this link by June 30th
