Honor Award | Historic Preservation/Adaptive Reuse

The Battery - Strada Architecture LLC

Jury Comments: 

The Battery was recognized for its sensitive adaptive reuse, where modern interventions are thoughtfully balanced with historic preservation. The jury admired how the project retained the original structure’s integrity while creating dynamic, functional spaces. Its design fosters a meaningful dialogue between past and present, offering a layered architectural narrative​.

Delancey Place Townhome - Kaminski + Pew

Jury Comments: 

Layering detail, texture, color, and pattern with a nod to the historic, Delancy Place Townhome is a refreshing take on modern living. The jury appreciates the softness and warmth that this renovation radiates. 

The Low Penthouse - LO Design

Jury Comments:

I appreciate the design team’s effort to create an efficient floor plan, prioritize natural light, and consider views. This, in combination with the warm material palette, create a sense of comfort and place. The shoji-inspired screens were a highlight- a lovely marriage of function and beauty.

Centennial District Ideas Exchange Competition - PORT

Jury Comments: 

The jury praised this masterplan for its sensitive integration of historical context with modern urban strategies. Its design enhances public engagement and connectivity while promoting sustainable growth. The thoughtful layering of landscape, infrastructure, and architecture creates a cohesive and visionary urban framework. 

Honor Award | Small Projects

ARROWHEAD A-FRAME - KJO ARCHITECTURE

Jury Comments: 

With a simple starting A-frame shape, simple nudges of the shape, and finally letting the program engage into the given volume, this project stays true to it’s form. The jury appreciated the honest design approach with elegant detailing.
