In 2021, our community lost a great friend and architect, Matt Koenig. The Golf Committee of AIA Philadelphia and the Board of Directors chose to commemorate Matt's service and commitment to AIA by renaming the outing, the MATTHEW J. KOENIG MEMORIAL GOLF TOURNAMENT.

Join your colleagues and friends for a day of golf on two of the area's finest courses, lunch, an open bar, dinner, prizes, and more! The outing will again be held at Sunnybrook Golf Club and Whitemarsh Valley Country Club on Monday, April 27, 2026.

Every year the AIA Philadelphia Golf Outing supports programming that benefits the local design and construction community’s efforts to engage K-12 students to learn more about the design and construction industry. Programs such as the Architecture and Design Education program -- where design and construction professionals partner with classroom teachers in Philadelphia Public School classrooms. This program empowers the next generation to be effective shapers and advocates for our city, our neighborhoods, our parks, and public spaces. Students not only learn about career paths in architecture, engineering, and construction, but also learn how to use design to become better stewards of their neighborhoods and champions for a more useful, beautiful, and equitable city.

The Matthew J. Koenig Memorial Scholarship was created by the AIA Philadelphia Golf Committee to honor our dear friend and colleague Matt Koenig. This scholarship was created to honor Matt's passion and commitment to bettering the profession of architecture. All donations are tax-deductible.
