Just over 50% of the revenue for AIA Philadelphia in 2024 was in membership dues. This includes individual membership dues, where our individual members join through AIA National; as well as our company level membership for Architecture firms and allied companies who support AIA Philadelphia and our members in their work. This also means that each year, AIA Philadelphia has to raise the other half of its revenue through its programs and events.
Since AIA Philadelphia is a heavily program, event, and advocacy focused organization, the main expense that we have are the people that work for and with the Chapter. We allocate staff time spent on programs based on spreadsheets and then any time that is not spent on program we then allocate to member services administration (CES credits, reporting to AIA National; Communications; Graphic Design) and other overhead expenses.
