DIG Architecture Principal Scott Hoffman Honored with PBJ Corporate Leadership Award

PHILADELPHIA, PA [July 15, 2026] – In business and architecture, true leadership requires a deliberate balance of strategic corporate governance and impactful civic advocacy – a dual competency that has driven and continues to drive the career of DIG Architecture's Scott Hoffman. As Principal-in-Charge of the firm's Philadelphia office, Hoffman was recently named a recipient of the Philadelphia Business Journal Corporate Leadership Award, an accolade honoring regional executives who not only drive corporate growth but also champion community equity while steering their organizations through complex, high-stakes environments.

Hoffman has spent his 15+-year tenure at DIG as a foundational pillar for its strategic growth in the Greater Philadelphia Region and expansion of its civic project and senior living portfolios. Over the course of his career, Hoffman has emerged as a leader for blending high-level conceptual design with rigorous, technical project execution.

“Scott embodies the exact spirit of what it means to create groundbreaking architecture,” said DIG President Vince Myers. “He is driven by an instinct to look at every project as an opportunity to strengthen public infrastructure and support community resilience. His technical certainty and absolute transparency make him an invaluable asset to our firm leadership team and clients alike. This honor is a well-deserved acknowledgment of his profound impact on the built environment across the Greater Philadelphia region and beyond.”

Technical Certainty and “The Wolf” Mentality
Within the professional services and corporate landscape, a principal carries the functional governance and strategic responsibilities of a traditional corporate executive.

For DIG's executive leadership team and the firm's regional partners, Hoffman has become the go-to leader for navigating complex, high-stakes project developments.

Relying on clarity, calm and objective metrics to eliminate emotional or philosophical friction, Hoffman provides clients with zero-risk solutions, mixed with a signature touch of levity when appropriate. Early in his career, colleagues nicknamed him “The Wolf,” a testament to his reputation as a technical fixer who steps into troubled, complex projects to mitigate risk, overcome bureaucratic or structural hurdles and protect design integrity while regaining momentum.

This reputation aligns directly with the best piece of career advice Hoffman notes he ever received: “Become known for something valuable.”

Transforming the Philadelphia Fabric
Since DIG established its dedicated Philadelphia presence in 2019, Hoffman has led some of the city's most impactful civic, educational and infrastructure initiatives. His notable accomplishments include:

·        The Budd Bioworks Master Plan: Leading the strategic planning for this milestone redevelopment, which amplified DIG's visibility in the life sciences and innovation sectors and positioned the firm for future regional redevelopments, including planning for The Bellwether District.

·        Carnegie-Era Library Revitalizations: Spearheading the $13 million renovation of the Free Library of Philadelphia's Paschalville branch and the $8.5 million revitalization of the Cobb's Creek branch, part of a landmark achievement where the firm completed five library projects in a single year.

·        Northwest Transfer Station: Leading the project team on a state-of-the-art, $33 million, 21,500-square-foot modernization project for the City of Philadelphia that directly improves neighborhood environmental quality.

·        Studio & Geographic Expansion: Nurturing the growth of DIG's Senior Living studio into a multi-state service area, including wellness centers in Princeton and the Ewing Township Senior and Community Center, while helping anchor DIG's evolution into a multi-office firm, which recently expanded to include Queens, NY.

Advocacy and Community-Centric Leadership
Deeply inspired by the civic and community work of architectural icon Louis Kahn, Hoffman's leadership is inextricably linked to fostering equity and opportunity. He personally directs DIG's immersive partnership with the Drexel University Architecture Co-op program, embedding students within the firm's multidisciplinary “total-design” environment to mentor them across architecture, interior design and environmental graphics.

An active advocate for equitable access to high-quality design and a graduate of Temple University with a bachelor of architecture degree, Hoffman leads DIG's pro-bono initiatives for The Enterprise Center in West Philadelphia, providing strategic planning services to support minority entrepreneurship and neighborhood revitalization. Whether through his involvement with NOMAS (National Organization of Minority Architecture Students) or his deep-rooted project work with Rebuild Philadelphia, Hoffman remains dedicated to eliminating financial barriers to design and strengthening the social fabric of underserved urban corridors.
