New Brunswick, NJ / Philadelphia, PA / Queens, NY [May 28, 2025] – DIGroup Architecture (DIG) is redefining how environments are experienced by embedding environmental graphics, signage and wayfinding design into the architectural process – right from the start. At a time when user experience drives design, DIG's in-house Graphics Studio sets the firm apart by delivering immersive visual storytelling and intuitive navigation for projects where space has the potential to come alive.
Led by Graphics Studio Director Marina Stern, the studio collaborates closely with architects and interior designers to animate selected environments, from senior living campuses and public libraries to universities and cultural institutions. “It's not about applying graphics as an afterthought,” said Stern. “We look for opportunities where visuals can elevate the experience to bring clarity, identity and even delight to a space.”
The firm's integrated approach is evident in several recent projects. At the Lester Senior Living campus in Morris County, DIG incorporated vintage Hollywood aesthetics into a renovated movie theater. For the Long Branch Free Public Library, ocean-themed murals connect the library's purpose with the local environment. Additionally, DIG partnered with a Boston design firm to update Rutgers University's campus-wide signage and wayfinding manual, aligning it with the university's new brand identity.
“We see graphics as a critical component of placemaking,” added Stern. “Whether it's helping visitors find their way or sparking emotional connection, great design communicates with purpose.”
The success of this integrated model has led to expansion within the Graphics Studio. DIG recently promoted Angela Lin to Senior Graphic Designer and welcomed Aciel Bernal as Graphic Designer. The studio continues to advance environmental design within a firm that believes meaningful experiences are fundamental to Architecture for Change.
Established in 2006 and based in New Brunswick, NJ, with an office in Philadelphia, DIG expanded its presence with a New York City office through the acquisition of Graf & Lewent in Jamaica, Queens, this past April. As a certified MBE, SBE and DBE, DIG specializes in architecture, interior design and graphics, signage and wayfinding design across the PK-12, healthcare, senior living, civic, higher education and transportation sectors.
