Archer & Buchanan Architecture is proud to announce the firm has been named to the Forbes America's Top 200 Residential Architects 2025 list. Of the approximately 18,000 US firms considered, Archer & Buchanan is pleased to stand out for an elevated degree of overall excellence in architecture, particularly regarding the firm's emphasis on consideration of place in project design.

“We always strive to avoid trends in design,” says A&B founding partner Richard Buchanan. “It is our intention to design a home that is not only uniquely expressive of each client and their specific needs, but also appropriate to the place in which the home exists. It is gratifying to know that Forbes recognizes this approach as one of the things that sets architects apart in the field; for us it is at the core of our firm philosophy.”

To arrive at the America's Top 200 Residential Architects 2025 list, Forbes utilized a 3-tier system that included a general professional evaluation, the evaluation of a single “Exemplary House”, and an evaluation relative to the seven categories of the Forbes Architecture's Residential Guiding Principles & Best Practices. Following a grueling 10-month long investigative and evaluative process, Forbes published the list at the end of October.

“This is a tremendous honor, and we are in awe of the Forbes Architecture editorial team and the Forbes Architecture Advisory Board for the efforts put forth to arrive at this list,” adds A&B firm partner Michele Thackrah. “The rigorous process by which they evaluated firms is admirable, and we are thrilled and grateful to have met the criteria for inclusion.”
