Architecture Week 2025: Inspiring the Designers of Tomorrow

Imagine a world where every student sees themselves as a designer, someone who can shape buildings, cities, and communities.  That’s the vision behind Architecture Week 2025, happening April 7th-11th! This nationwide celebration highlights the power of design and invites students of all ages to see themselves as future architects and designers.

This year, DesignPhiladelphia’s Design Education Program is partnering with AIA Philadelphia to bring architecture straight to the classroom. Through field trips, career pathway discussions, and hands-on activities, students will engage with real architects, explore what a career in design looks like, and discover how their creativity can shape the world around them.

Why are we doing this? Because every student has a design gene, spark of creativity waiting to be nurtured. Yet, many don’t realize architecture and design could be their future. By introducing students to design and professionals in the field, we serve as the catalyst  showing them that their ideas matter and that a career in design is within reach.

Over the past five years, DesignPhiladelphia’s Design Education Program has reached over 1,800 students across Philadelphia, opening doors to the world of design. This year, with AIA Philadelphia by our side, we’re continuing our mission of connecting students with architects who will inspire, mentor, and empower them to see themselves as part of a more inclusive and dynamic design industry.

Architecture Week isn’t just about learning, it’s about experiencing. It’s about sparking curiosity, building confidence, and helping students see that their ideas can shape the future. Whether you’re a student excited to explore, a teacher eager to bring design into the classroom, or a professional looking to inspire the next generation.

We’re ready to open doors, ignite imaginations, and build a future where everyone sees themselves in design.
