The program will feature two guest presenters who will walk through case studies and how to access incentive programs offered from federal and state resources.
Speakers
Jesse Stanley, P.E., Director and Practice Leader of KBKG’s Green Building Tax Incentive Group will provide an in-depth exploration of how the 179D deduction for energy-efficient commercial buildings can be leveraged by designers, developers, and property owners. This session will cover changes made as a result of the Inflation Reduction Act, eligibility criteria, key strategies for maximizing deductions, and recent updates or proposed changes under the new administration that could impact future claims. Additionally, attendees will gain insights into the benefits of the 45L tax credit for energy-efficient residential properties, including qualification requirements, financial advantages, and how it complements other sustainability incentives.
Brad A. Molotsky, Partner, and lead for the Duane Morris Project Development/P3 group and as co-head of the firm's Opportunity Zones group. Brad will dive into two local programs, Act 129 and New Jersey's Clean Energy Programs and Incentives. Act 129 is Pennsylvania's energy efficiency law requiring the state's seven largest electric distribution companies (EDCs) to reduce energy consumption and demand within their service territories;
There will also be a discussion on how the shift in political administrations could influence tax reform, and what changes may affect the availability and structure of these incentives.
