Congratulations to KSS Architects on winning an Honor Award for their Proctor Hall, One Stop Student Services Center Project.

Rutgers University sought to reimagine an existing administrative services building into a streamlined location to support student needs—a ‘One Stop.’ The 50-year-old cast-place concrete structure underwent a complete renovation and addition, maximizing high performance glazing to flood the interior with natural light and transforming the existing building into a beacon for university identity.

The adaptive reuse transformed a monolithic brutalist-style building into a welcoming destination that not only elevated the student experience, but that of Rutgers employees as well. Previously characterized by deep, dark floorplates, the design maximizes high performance glazing to flood the interior with natural light.
