Congratulations to DIGSAU on winning a Merit Award for their Barnegat Light Residence Project.

The owners’ design for a more humble ‘surf shack’ is expressed through simplicity of form, active street presence, and focus on indoor-outdoor connections. The house presents a welcoming, familiar front that engages the public realm with an extended porch and stoop.

Simple wood slats form a common motif throughout the house amplifying the movement of light throughout the day.

The interior architecture continues the theme of simplicity, allowing guests to experience natural light, framed views, and the owners' collection of meaningful art and objects.
