Congratulations to DIGSAU for winning a Merit Award for their Gettysburg Montessori Charter School Project.

This joyful renovation and addition has been transformative in fostering interaction and community among this tight-knit K-6 public charter school. Students from all grade levels cross paths in the glassy corridors that bridge between the classrooms and outdoor play space. Using common, low-cost materials in creative ways, the design expresses the playful nature of the school while prioritizing student socialization, health, and learning. The agrarian exterior is designed to be in dialogue with the agricultural architecture of the surrounding area.
