Zoom
Thursday 12 Oct 2023
12:00 PM - 1:30 PM
12 Oct 2023 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM
Public art has the potential to beautify blank spaces, foster community engagement, and honor authentic place-based values. This October’s Design Dialogue explores case studies that highlight the transformative impact of public art in our built environment and successful collaborations between artists and architects. How can architects better integrate the use of art into a project? How can public art add value to a building or space? What are effective ways to engage the community in the development of both?
Learning Objectives:
Discuss the roles of architect, artist and community members in creating a collaborative public art / building project.
Explore the strategies for engaging creative voices outside of the building design team.
Quantify the value that public art adds to a building or space.
Identify ways that public art can be integrated into a building project.
