Join WoodWorks in-person or online for a discussion on mixed-use buildings which combine multiple occupancy types and/or functions in a single structure and learn how to apply the unique mix of code requirements. This presentation will break down the code analysis associated with these buildings and provide logical, code-compliant steps on topics including determining allowable building size, separation needs, detailing requirements, and the application of special provisions. We’ll also look closely at wood framing in Construction Types III, IV and V—through examples, calculations, and details that demonstrate how to navigate the various code requirements associated with mixed-use buildings while maximizing building size and meeting fire and life safety needs.
