An introduction on how to achieve Net Zero – A Decarbonomics Approach. Course will help define actions that can be taken to assist organizations to effectively achieve their net zero goals
Prerequisite Knowledge:
A basic understanding of buildings and building systems and related carbon net zero considerations
Learning Objectives:
Develop an understanding of Global GHG Emissions and Climate Action Context; Develop an understanding of quantity of carbon emissions by sector, and within buildings
Define the four Climate Risk Impacts for building owners including direct building damage, indirect supply chain disruptions, migration, regulatory risk
Understand the desired outcomes of a structured approach to decarbonizing building portfolios: Rapidly identify and quantify portfolio level carbon, decide how to Cost effective decarbonization (maximize ROI and GHG reduction per $ spent) Retrofit buildings in line with existing building asset lifecycles
Outline and define the actions that can be taken with a structured approach to decarbonizing building portfolios: Action 1 - Benchmark: Establish baseline building portfolio emissions Action 2 - Roadmap: Develop a comprehensive, optimized, strategy to decarbonize Action 3 - Deliver: Understand the benefits of an agile PMO led approach to ensure cost effective decarbonization throughout the Net Zero journey
