3025 John F Kennedy Blvd, Philadelphia
Friday 11 Nov 2022
2:05 PM - 3:35 PM
11 Nov 2022 2:05 PM - 3:35 PM
The West Tower will be a 28-story high-rise, mixed use tower that is approximately 350 feet in height, with two below-grade parking levels. The design plans show approximately 9,000 sq ft of retail; 198,310 sq ft for office space; 12,000 sq ft for amenity space; and 18 levels of residential rooms, totaling approximately 265,000 sq ft. The below-grade garage will include two levels of parking, totaling approximately 58,000 sq ft. The building site is bounded on the north by SEPTA commuter rail tracks, on the south by JFK Boulevard, on the west by a site for future development, and on the east by a grade-level plaza shared with the East Tower and an elevated CSX track. The program will consist of a construction tour of 3025 JFK, Schuylkill Yards' West Tower development.
The tour will encompass a review of the following systems: concrete structural system, window wall exterior assemblies, mechanical, electrical and plumbing rough-ins and initial distribution runs, waterproofing and metal panel exterior assemblies.
Learning Objectives
Describe the building system required for an combined life science and office program with a residential tower above.
Identify building design strategies used to facilitate a functional life science/office and residential tower while accommodating building code restrictions and site constraints.
Discuss the design team coordination efforts that take place between the design team and the base building team during the construction documents and construction administration phases of the project.
