11 Nov 2025 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM
This course introduces attendees to the principles and advantages of Displacement Induction Ventilation (DIV) using QLCI diffusers, with a focus on applications in educational environments. Participants will explore the challenges of indoor air quality (IAQ), thermal comfort, and energy efficiency in school settings, and how QLCI systems address these issues more effectively than traditional mixed-air HVAC designs. The course covers system components, design principles, real-world case studies, and compliance with standards like ASHRAE 62.1 and ANSI S12.60, as well as how these systems support healthier, quieter, and more energy-efficient classrooms.
Learning Objectives:
Identify the key differences between displacement ventilation and traditional mixed-air HVAC systems.
Explain how QLCI displacement induction ventilation improves indoor air quality, thermal comfort, and acoustics in classrooms.
Understand the role of Dedicated Outdoor Air Systems (DOAS) in supporting DIV system performance.
Evaluate the energy savings and maintenance benefits associated with QLCI technology using real-world data and case studies.
Apply ASHRAE 62.1 ventilation requirements and IAQ best practices in the design and renovation of educational facilities.
Recognize the impact of improved IAQ and acoustics on student health, performance, and absenteeism.
Assess how QLCI systems contribute to sustainability goals and funding opportunities under programs like the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA).
