Clean room design considerations in an evolving and flexible manufacturing environment. Initial overview of defining what a clean room is, outlining the different definitions based on the referenced standard or regulatory body. Review airlock configurations, and frequent drivers of the boundaries such as biohazards (viral, toxin, live/non-live), product safety, and personnel safety. Considerations for flexible manufacturing facilities that include facilities capable of producing different products, rearrange order of unit operations, or utilize alternative/future equipment. Lastly, we will cover equipment requirements to consider for operations and maintenance.
