This seminar will summarize Philadelphia’s relevant codes and bulletins, relating to the City of Philadelphia Excavation Site Permit. The seminar will include a project example, that explores the permit’s requirements. Attendees will learn how to quickly identify when an Excavation Site Permit will be required, list the documents that are required for the Excavation Site Permit, understand the responsibility of the Owner versus the Design Team, and list the minimum Special Inspections requirements for excavations.

About the Presenters:
Ross Stuart, PE, SE – Associate Vice-President and Structural Division Manager - has over 17 years of structural design and assessment experience. He has assisted with the design, coordination, administration, and management of structural engineering for a diverse spectrum of projects, including new construction, rehabilitation, adaptive reuse, inspection, condition assessment, pre-purchase due diligence, and bid repair projects. Ross’s notable projects include the structural engineering design of the $3.2 billion Revel Entertainment Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, NJ and the $80 million, 235,000 square foot Paul VI High School West in Ashburn, VA.
Henry Morris, PE – Structural Project Engineer - serves as a project engineer in Pennoni’s Structural Division and has over 8 years of engineering and construction experience in a wide range of markets. Henry’s extensive experience includes structural engineering design and project management of an assortment of projects, including both new build and adaptive re-use and retrofit projects. An experienced and licensed structural engineer in several states, Henry has a proven record of delivering complex technical projects from concept through construction, examples include a 12-story state-of-the-art pet food manufacturing facility in Lebanon, TN, and the time-sensitive renovation of Valhalla Golf Club’s clubhouse in time for the 2024 PGA Championship.
