A webinar featuring the urban design project Sydhavnen/Sluseholmen in Copenhagen Harbor, Copenhagen, Denmark, designed and executed 2000-2009.
In Copenhagen’s harbor district, supervising architect Sjoerd Soeters, a leading Dutch architect, devised a master plan of perimeter blocks interspersed by canals, with inner courtyards and parking underneath. Each block’s floor plan was designed by a different architect. Thirty Danish architects each designed only the facades of individual block parcels, following design guidelines. This complex process turned out to be efficient and produced results that met the city’s and developers’ expectations.
