This presentation will comprise a detailed discussion of above and underwater inspection and assessment of waterfront structures. Topics to be covered include types and frequency of waterfront inspections, above and underwater inspection methodology including non-destructive and partially destructive inspection techniques, construction materials and their most common modes of deterioration in the marine environment, assessment criteria, and follow-on reporting. Industry standards, guidelines and best practices will be discussed including ASCE MOP 130 Inspection and Assessment of Waterfront Structures, ADCI Consensus Standards for Commercial Diving, and OSHA 29 CRF 1910 Subpart T Commercial Diving Operations.

Brian DeBaun, PE is a seasoned engineer diver and project manager at Jacobs with more than 14 years of experience managing marine and waterfront assets and highway bridges throughout their life cycles.
Patrick Kelley, PE is a design manager and civil/structural engineer at Jacobs with nearly 14 years of experience in the engineering and construction industry, and with a particular interest in responsible urban waterfront development.
