In response to broad membership desire, the EDI Committee is initiating the Culture Change Initiative (CCI) in 2022, an annual series of workshops to support chapter members and firms who want to learn more about Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.
The first round of CCI workshops will take place virtually, between January and May 2022, led by clinical community psychologist and facilitator Kumea Shorter-Gooden. This confidential application will be used to form a cohort of 22 people from the Philadelphia architecture community to commit to five 4.5 hour sessions.
The overall aim of CCI is to build the capacity of AIA Philadelphia members to center an equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) lens in their work and to become champions and agents of change with respect to EDI in architecture. The sessions will enhance your skills in identifying and addressing implicit biases and microaggressions, foster the development of an “equity lens”, and increase your facility in engaging in difficult conversations.
