Formwork is a Philadelphia-based residential architecture practice rooted in over 40 years of history and experience building on the Main Line. Our firm specializes in custom-designed homes - both renovation and new-construction residential projects throughout Philadelphia, the Main Line, Bucks County, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland and beyond. We go wherever our clients take us. Formwork emphasizes personalized service, bespoke craftsmanship, thoughtful constructability, and a collaborative, client-driven design process.

We are seeking a motivated professional to join our studio. The successful candidate will contribute to design development, handle production of construction documents, coordinate with builders and consultants, perform site visits and construction administration, and help uphold the firm's focus on high-end client services. Key responsibilities:

• Translate conceptual designs and sketches into AutoCAD and Revit drafted documents
• Add details and Design Development construction documentation for custom residential projects.
• Produce clear drawings, details, and specifications; coordinate with consultants and contractors.
• Visit sites, participate in construction administration, and ensure quality of execution.
• Prepare client presentations, diagrams, material studies, and digital models.
• Contribute to office workflows and standards.
• Support client meetings and help maintain strong builder relationships (Formwork regularly collaborates with regional builders).

Qualifications:

• Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch).
• Licensed architect encouraged for senior/project-architect level. NCARB record a plus.
• Experience on custom residential projects (renovation and/or new construction).
• Strong technical understanding of detailing, code, and construction administration.
• Proficiency in industry-standard tools (Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite are typical expectations); strong hand-drawing/sketching skills are a plus.
• Excellent verbal and visual communication, client-facing experience, and strong time-management skills.
