Join the International Masonry Institute and AIA Philadelphia Technology + Innovation Committee for a hands-on workshop that explores where traditional masonry installation and cutting-edge technology meet. This hands-on workshop will explore the innovative application of Augmented Reality (AR) in masonry construction, specifically in executing complex geometries with the Fologram Hololens.
Participants will have the opportunity to use AR to lay courses of masonry units. Participants will also have the chance to design, lay out, and build a wall with different brick orientations and bonds, utilizing traditional brick installation techniques, tools of the trade, and recommended processes provided by skilled masonry instructors. By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to examine how AR compares to traditional masonry methods in design accuracy, cost-effectiveness, and craftworker training potential.
This event is a 3/4 day workshop hosted at IMI's Workshop north of Philadelphia. Food to be provided by IMI. Transportation to the facility is not provided.
