THIS FRIDAY (11/18/22), the Community Design Collaborative is hosting the Embedding Design Justice Workshop. The workshop will be led by Bryan Lee Jr. of New Orleans based firm, Colloqate, and will address issues of power and practices for community-driven design.
Who is Bryan Lee Jr.? Bryan is the founding organizer at the Design Justice Platform and organizer of the Design as Protest National Day of Action. He's also recognized for leading two award-winning architecture and design programs through the Arts Council of New Orleans and the National Organization of Minority Architects and being named one of the Fast Company's most creative people in 2018.
Embedding Design Justice will highlight our four guiding principles: Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, otherwise known as JEDI. It will focus on implementing these principles into the architecture and design fields to transform communities into healthier, more accommodating living environments for all people.
The Day's Schedule will be:
Embedding Design Justice Workshop: 1:30pm-5:30pm
Happy Hour and Networking: 5:30pm-7:30pm
