Join AIA Philadelphia's Committee on the Environment Zero Waste team on for an exciting tour of Kieran Timberlake's office in Philadelphia. The Tour will be led by the Facilities Manager who will outline the award winning, low carbon, energy conserving, zero waste practices of the facility. You'll also have the opportunity to participate in a networking event with 5 community heroes that promote circularity in Philadelphia, along with a raffle prize from local businesses. 

Learning Objectives:

1. Attendees will develop a detailed understanding of the adaptive reuse of a factory into a low carbon, energy efficient office space. The company also purchases renewable energy to power the building.

2. Attendees will learn how operations and events can be zero waste. They will learn how to reduce waste on a regular basis and promote circularity.

3. Attendees will learn about the well being standards and passive thermal strategies to maximize occupant comfort. These strategies are monitored with sensors and feedback loops to optimize performance. 

4. Attendees will meet with local 'zero waste' heroes who champion efforts related to community composting, circularity, material reuse, and deconstruction.
