The Culture Change Initiative -- a Workshop for a Better Future
We’re supporting our chapter’s members and firms in the pursuit of equity, diversity and inclusion with a training institute - it’s called the Culture Change Initiative. From January 2022 through April 2022, a cohort of 22 members of Philadelphia’s architecture community will gather for workshops and training from clinical community psychologist Dr. Kumea Shorter-Gooden. The goal? Build our AIA Philadelphia members to be agents of change who center equity, diversity, and inclusion in their work by cultivating skills, making meaningful connections, and developing professional connections to a supportive network of local leaders. The sessions will enhance your skills in identifying and addressing implicit biases and microaggressions, foster the development of an “equity lens”, and increase your facility in engaging in difficult conversations.
The commitment: Five 4.5 hour sessions (one per month) from January 2022 through April 2022. - MUST ATTEND ALL SESSIONS
Friday, January 28, 2022 - 8:30am-1pm
Friday, February 11, 2022 - 8:30am-1pm
