Join the Building Enclosure Council for a lunch and learn!
A look into building science and the dry line of the building envelope connected through various systems. We will explore details and best practices for connecting roofing to wall vapor barriers, foundation waterproofing to wall vapor barriers, and most importantly connecting various window systems to the wall vapor barriers. This detail which is prevalent on almost every building, is always an area that is discussed during the shop drawing process between architects, envelope consultants, installers, and product manufacturers. There are numerous methods to make this connection due to the various products that are available including caulks, flashing tapes, silicones transitions, metal flashing trims, but sometimes the detail for the best envelope water integrity interferes with building aesthetics. We will explore some options that look to achieve both aesthetics and a continuous dry line for a watertight building.
