While light’s effect on humans has been studied for decades, only recent discoveries have found a direct link between light and human physiology. The exact workings of this intricate biological system are not fully known. Human-centric lighting, a concept that suggests carefully designed lighting can positively impact a person on a physiological level, has become a central focus.
This session will provide insight into past and current research on human-centric lighting as well as lighting equipment that may support this human-focused approach to design. Research is in its infancy, conclusions and solutions continue to evolve on a monthly if not weekly basis. The information discussed in this session reflects conclusions drawn from current published studies on human-centric lighting.
