Berger Development is hiring a Real Estate Development Manager. This is a great opportunity to make an impact on each development and help guide projects from concept through construction. Berger Development focuses on ground up development of mutlifamily and mixed use projects in the Philadelphia suburbs.

  • Evaluate development opportunities. Create reports related to zoning, site planning, and overall project budget and timeline.
  • Manage due diligence process. Obtain third party reports related to environmental, geotech, and utilities.
  • Oversee concept design and evaluate sites for different development options and building types.
  • Assist in securing all required entitlements and approvals needed.
  • Oversee design team and ensure deadlines are met and design meets owners' requirements for the development.
  • Review civil, engineering, architectural and design plans to drive quality and cost effectiveness.
  • Contract and coordinate all consultants needed during the design/documentation phase.
  • Coordinate interior finish selections and track related submittals throughout construction.
  • Assist with general contractor selection process including writing RFP and evaluating bids.
  • Manage value engineering process including evaluating opportunities and coordinating implementation.
  • Manage design team throughout construction process and ensure all information is provided in a timely manner.
  • Monitor construction process including regular site visits. 
  • Review RFIs and Submittals to ensure information meets owners' requirements for the development.
  • Evaluate and negotiate any cost events with the construction provider.
  • Track project costs including subcontract buyout and change events.
  • Assist in project close out, including punchlist process and municipality approval of escrowed sitework
