Ballinger is seeking talented and forward-thinking Mechanical Project Engineers with 4 to 12 years' experience to join our interdisciplinary project teams, and to contribute to the design of the mechanical systems for our clients. As a Mechanical Project Engineer with Ballinger, you will enjoy outstanding opportunities for innovation, creative problem solving, and direct collaboration with project team members.

Responsibilities

  • Lead moderately complex projects (or multiple smaller scale projects)
  • Work under the direction of the Chief Engineer or Senior Project Engineer directly on projects
  • Interface and lead coordination with all disciplines during the design/coordination phases
  • Interface with the client in design presentations
  • Direct and perform engineering on projects: maintain work plan and monitor progress of design, detailing, and drawing production throughout design phases to meet deadlines
  • Write work plans and review weekly to confirm schedule alignment
  • Mentor junior staff assigned to your projects
  • Develop or have expertise in Ballinger's project types: health care, academic/lab/research, and corporate/lab
  • Travel when required
  • Produce basis of design reports, systems matrices, and preliminary design reports
  • Produce specification sections and interface with specifications administration
  • Produce field site visit reports

The candidate must possess strong production, analytical communication and production skills, and be able to perform well in a design environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • PE registration, or working towards PE
  • CAD + Revit proficient
  • Excel, Word, and Analysis Software Proficient
  • Well-developed analysis and engineering evaluation skills
  • Developing knowledge of contractual and liability issues
  • Developing knowledge of construction administration process and procedural knowledge
  • High level of responsiveness and collaboration with contractors and clients
  • Advanced client relation skills
  • Developing work planning, time management, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced professional judgment
  • Full COVID vaccination required
