Can a pragmatist be a visionary? We think so. We are a different type of architecture firm, where we confidently advocate practicality in equal measure with creativity. Visionary design does not come from a vacuum. Instead, we think the most memorable architecture results from partnerships — between creative designers, trusted consultants, and most importantly, our clients. We take the time to learn about our clients’ requirements and expectations. We actively engage them, not just at the start of a project, but as participants throughout the design process. We encourage questions and we seek answers together. We care about enriching the experience of architecture. Our practice includes education facilities, libraries, community centers, government buildings, and urban design projects. Within those practice areas, we have completed projects from dining facilities and laboratories to medical clinics and performing arts centers. We specialize in projects with a strong sense of collaboration and a keen understanding of the shared goals of project success. Our process encourages practical solutions and the simple elegance of architecture that is both useful and timeless. We create memorable places that are visually striking, in harmony with their sites, fulfill program requirements, and become sources of public pride. We create Architecture with Purpose. We are Buell Kratzer Powell.
