Founded in 1993, BAU Architecture is a full-service research-based, architecture, planning, and interior design firm dedicated to sustaining, preserving, and cultivating the built environment: sustaining through passive environmental design that considers regional and solar orientation to reduce energy use as well as materials and methods of construction to promote environmental quality; preserving by developing strategies for renovating buildings, conserving historic structures and reusing materials; and cultivating through socially-responsive design to foster community and promote the health/wellbeing of building occupants. BAU is committed to community buildings which are respectful of our natural and built environments, specializing in municipal, educational, health and hospitality projects. BAU is actively engaged in the research of alternative energy systems, sustainable materials and methods of construction, and indoor ecology.
