Patterhn Ives is an award-winning architecture practice dedicated to arts, education, and community. Endorsed by long-standing relationships with clients and communities, we strive to impart a positive, lasting record through a commitment to design, research, innovation, and environmental stewardship. Our historic restoration studio is led by Dale Frens, formerly of the nationally recognized office, Frens & Frens. Our shared belief in the value and irreplaceable beauty of historic structures unites our offices as we practice together with attention to both the rich history and modern needs of our clients. The restoration studio has over 30 years of exemplary experience preserving, restoring, and rehabilitating historic buildings and sites ranging from rural train stations to state capitols. Our preservation services include historic conditions surveys and assessments, Historic Structure Reports, HABS documentation, historic district and campus design guidelines, historic materials investigation and analysis, building maintenance plans, and National Historic Landmark compliance. Patterhn Ives is a certified women-owned small business enterprise.
