Kass & Associates is at the forefront of Philadelphia's residential Renaissance, creating distinctive, high quality custom homes for clients in the city's vibrant downtown as well as in the surrounding region for over twenty years. Our architecture and design firm specializes in residential design of new homes, additions and renovations of country homes and estates, as well as urban townhouses and apartments. Kass & Associates excels in creating a high level of craft and character for homes in both traditional and contemporary settings. The firm has created new homes in a variety of styles and sizes along with the design of carriage houses, pool houses, and other outbuildings. The firm has sensitively restored and expanded a number of 19th & early 20th century Main Line estates, reviving their grandeur and updating their building systems for use by a new generation of homeowners. Kass & Associates has also refurbished rural farmhouses and barns for residential use. Since 1990, the firm has designed over 50 apartments and condominium units in premier locations around the city including The Parc Rittenhouse, The Barclay, The Rittenhouse, The Lanesborough, The Lippincott Building, as well as the public spaces for The Carlyle. Our team of talented professionals is adept at working closely with owners, builders, interior designers, artisans, landscape designers, and technicians throughout the design and construction process. The firm also prides itself on working successfully with community groups, zoning committees and historic review boards on behalf of our clients. Kass & Associates provides a full range of residential design services, providing the same client attention and quality design to both small and large projects. Awards
In 2003, Kass & Associates were architects for Philadelphia Magazine's Design Home at The Lanesborough, transforming 3,500 s.f. of raw space into a model showcase unit on the 9th floor. In addition, the firm provided design services for the building's lobby and new street canopy. The success of Kass & Associates' design led to commissions for 8 additional full-floor apartments at The Lanesborough that were customized for individual buyers and the creation of marketing plans for the three storey penthouse at the top of the building. The firm has been recognized for high-end, luxury residential design in numerous national and regional publications including Architectural Digest, House Beautiful, Custom Home, Main Line Today, Philadelphia Style, and Philadelphia Magazine. In 2007 the firm was recipient of the Best Residential Project by the Associate Builders and Contractors Inc., Southeast Pennsylvania Chapter, and received a Historic Preservation Award from Lower Merion Township in 1997.
