We are looking for an architectural designer with 3-6 years' work experience. Our ideal candidate will be self-motivated, able to work independently and within small teams, and will be proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, and Adobe Suite. The position involves working on several projects at one time under one or more project architects in all aspects of a project, from feasibility to completion. Single-family residential work experience is an asset. A professional degree from an accredited school of architecture is required. Registration is not required, but we prefer candidates who are recently registered or are on track to be registered. We participate in AxP and are mentoring current architectural designers. The position is full time, with benefits and potential for flexible hours.

Architectural Designer Responsibilities

Assist project architects in all phases of projects

·        Pre-Design Phase (PD): field survey buildings; prepare AutoCAD and Revit base drawings and 3D models where applicable; convert 3rd party digital scans to 2D plans and elevations; research zoning, storm water, building, energy, historic code; record code findings in Program Report

·        Schematic Design (SD): support Project Architects in design studies and documentation - 2D AutoCAD and 3D modeling w/Rhino and/or Revit

·        Review in-house checklists and update SD documents for preliminary contractor pricing

·        Construction Documents (CD):  2D AutoCAD and 3D Revit documentation, product research, vendor contact, sample procurement

·        Review in-house checklists and update CD documents for permitting and bidding

·        Bidding & Negotiation (BN): issue CD's to reviewing authority, bidders

·        Construction Administration (CA): sample and submittal review, shop drawing review, maintain shop drawing log, prepare construction sketches, occasional job site visits
