John Milner Architects is seeking an experienced Project Designer to join our firm. Ideal candidates should possess strong design skills and a deep understanding and appreciation of traditional design and historic architectural precedent. Job responsibilities include leading the design effort for new traditional architectural projects, design research, preparation of renderings and presentation drawings and client interface. 

•   A bachelor's or master's degree in architecture is preferred.

•   A minimum of 7 years of professional experience with demonstrated emphasis on design-related responsibilities

•   Experience working in a broad range of traditional architectural styles; understanding of historic architectural precedent; Preservation related experience is beneficial, but not required.

•   The ability to work collaboratively with consultants and owners, as well as in-house project teams

•   Strong communication skills and the ability to convey ideas clearly in written, verbal, and graphic formats

•   A portfolio demonstrating strong graphic and presentation skills; Experience in the preparation of presentation drawings, renderings, and working drawings in both physical and digital formats is preferred.

•   Demonstrated work ethic, organization, and attention to detail

•   Understanding of technical details and traditional construction technologies

•   Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Design Suite, and SketchUp are required. Experience working in Revit is beneficial but not required.
