About the Firm
Since 1958, Venturi, Scott Brown and Associates has helped to shape the course of contemporary architecture and planning. Today, VSBAs principals and staff expand on the philosophy established by its founders -- an ethic rooted in social concern, contextuality, and environmental responsibility -- to offer design thats sensitive and humane. Principals Nancy Rogo Trainer and Daniel McCoubrey, along with founding principals Robert Venturi and Denise Scott Brown, are supported by long-time associates and an energetic staff of designers. Each project is led by its own dedicated team, with intense principal involvement throughout. VSBAs work is tremendously diverse -- from urban plans to museums, residences to decorative arts, plus a spectrum of academic planning and design -- addressed with artistry, wit, and sensitivity to tradition.
