Always by Design (AxD) recognizes the inherent uniqueness of every client and project as the basis for fresh and innovative design solutions. With over 20 years of diverse project experience, AxD owner Edward A. Barnhart, AIA, engages project participants -- owners, users, designers, engineers, and contractors alike -- into creative collaboration. The passions and expertise of AxD are exemplified by award-winning work that: achieves resonance between a project and its setting, delights and inspires users, and promotes authentic experience through the use of contemporary forms, materials and technology. Project expertise encompasses cultural/educational facilities, office and retail interiors, and single-family homes. Services offered by AxD include: space need assessments, feasibility studies, code analysis, sustainable design consulting, and architectural design -- from concept through completion -- for new buildings, additions, renovations and interior fit-outs. All of the architectural design, detailing, specifications and construction supervision for each project are done in-house.
