DESIGNING WITH SURFACED MASONRY WALL SYSTEMS 1 AIA/CES (HSW) LU
This program will cover the various types of surfaced masonry wall systems for interior CMU walls. Discussion will center around the advantages and disadvantages of these different types of surfaced masonry and why choosing a system that provides a smooth, pinhole free monolithic surface can provide added protection for areas subjected to abuse, harsh environments and sanitary standards.

SUSTAINABLE CONCRETE MASONRY DESIGN: MOLD PREVENTION & MOISTURE PENETRATION 1 AIA/CES (HSW/SD) LU
Learn about how to keep the interior of a concrete masonry structure completely dry through the use of quality materials, proper detailing and specifying, as well as proper construction techniques. The program addresses from where mold comes and what fosters growth. Further the course illuminates that concrete masonry does not provide food for mold, is not damaged by it, and is easily cleaned.

PROPER INSTALLATION OF LIGHTWEIGHT MANUFACTURED STONE VENEER AND THE DIFFERENT TESTING CERTIFACTIONS AVAILABLE TO MANUFACTUERS 1 AIA/CES (HSW) LU
This presentation will give an overview of manufactured stone, discuss proper installation procedures and review the importance/value of testing certifications offered to manufacturers of stone veneer.

STORM WATER MANAGEMENT WITH MODULAR RAIN GARDENS 1 AIA/CES (HSW/SD) LU
This program discusses the use of pre-cast modular rain gardens as a storm water best management practice and LEED strategy. The course explains how modular rain gardens function, the design considerations and options that are available, and construction techniques and advantages.
